I did this one, USA Squared, as part of my ILCS Round Robin. I thought it came out pretty cute. I'll get the package in the mail to Vickie in the next day or so.<br /><br />As if this wasn't enough, I also have a new start. I think I must be crazy, because this one is a BAP. I've already got one started in Mystic Stitch White Tiger, but I couldn't resist this SAL at Kustom Krafts. A friend of mine is into 'pathways' and I think this will look great on her wall when I'm done. We get one page per month, and so far we've gotten two pages, but I only just started page 1. I'm stitching this at work, and I really need to get my Q-Snaps here, but I think it will be beautiful when it's done. Love the fall colors. What do you think?<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvV8bS-tV9HxbfHKaGrO3Mg6eLADjEQKhhvRMq8jeyXlvP8UcMF_qssTIVhM3ArgbaQCTOp9YnL0gJLKBMdCrCoSfT4LlkbCZyC-8YLRYK7-pIi16OpCvRClvrP5uIApUQrN1iNruqFAgc/s1600/Autumn+Grandeur+Cover.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 146px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvV8bS-tV9HxbfHKaGrO3Mg6eLADjEQKhhvRMq8jeyXlvP8UcMF_qssTIVhM3ArgbaQCTOp9YnL0gJLKBMdCrCoSfT4LlkbCZyC-8YLRYK7-pIi16OpCvRClvrP5uIApUQrN1iNruqFAgc/s200/Autumn+Grandeur+Cover.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5584375406753188354" border="0" /></a>Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16352417948406209439noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8673427133382858291.post-68644789432774157762011-02-15T13:05:00.002-07:002011-02-15T13:08:15.468-07:00First finish of 2011<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmvkHFFIxMLXyt0oi0CFeAdooKteG3b5ENwSa3t6kgP5lVMrTtQRqfopTN3TFtnXn-MVHYtz5v7JhXlhaRAsxubMwmp2AT2IGtmwXMgDOWqsAcBbywYHAWJgIwRB7uGr0JvM2WVrUUkZx2/s1600/Be+Kind+to+Animals+-+RR.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 140px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmvkHFFIxMLXyt0oi0CFeAdooKteG3b5ENwSa3t6kgP5lVMrTtQRqfopTN3TFtnXn-MVHYtz5v7JhXlhaRAsxubMwmp2AT2IGtmwXMgDOWqsAcBbywYHAWJgIwRB7uGr0JvM2WVrUUkZx2/s200/Be+Kind+to+Animals+-+RR.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5574010583681421058" border="0" /></a><br />Just a quick post to show the picture of my first 2011 finish. This is from the new RR that I'm participating in on ILCS. Cindi chose several Lizzie Kate patterns that will make a whole piece when complete. Given the fact that I have seven furbabies and multiple fish, I thought "Be Kind to Animals" was a good choice for me. This was my first experience with overdyed threads. It took some getting used to as I'm not used to making each 'X' individually, but I like the effect of it.Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16352417948406209439noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8673427133382858291.post-91540278512527139502010-12-22T15:04:00.003-07:002010-12-22T15:07:48.819-07:00Another finish...<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoEqx4xLB9YJIEI1m2g6RmX3yHsGkEyYeX74otZNMbFLZokmIEGGJfgEkk6ZnP5ez0-nn-8dzqPzlS6jXuX6uDOZV9d7PaPBogvoV1AFANQu-QQImOXoMyxVsh-bVjMWiKxy6UfS9W2iBH/s1600/San+Man+Witchy+Boot.jpg"><img style="float: right; margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 192px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoEqx4xLB9YJIEI1m2g6RmX3yHsGkEyYeX74otZNMbFLZokmIEGGJfgEkk6ZnP5ez0-nn-8dzqPzlS6jXuX6uDOZV9d7PaPBogvoV1AFANQu-QQImOXoMyxVsh-bVjMWiKxy6UfS9W2iBH/s200/San+Man+Witchy+Boot.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5553631732590473810" border="0" /></a><br />...and my last for the year. Better late than never, I finally finished my Halloween/Fall SAL for ILCS. I had put it aside when I realized I wouldn't get it done by Halloween so that I could concentrate on other projects that I was doing for others, namely the ornament RR. But I decided I wanted to finish it before it became a nearly finished UFO. I almost didn't do the green confetti stitches on the left because I knew they'd be a pain, but then I thought it looked unbalanced with the orange border on the right and nothing on the left. So I did them, and I think it came out pretty cute. I'm going to focus my attention on the White Tiger for the rest of the year, and see how much I can get done to start the new year off with.Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16352417948406209439noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8673427133382858291.post-1684184275024811572010-12-21T11:19:00.002-07:002010-12-21T12:01:39.987-07:00Final Round Robin Ornament<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyfI_ec271nRUlaZ23qMaNdzBIhIFU662qhFsj2qUOtF69bWAkLaChjNE7z15RWhFCptzgAiCJdkhYH9SOiUylZhDeWs3cSw9bFvQfuFOOt6O-yjS7HTDVZElJ-LN4Q4Jm16SpJSwdiU7b/s1600/Joy+RR.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 212px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyfI_ec271nRUlaZ23qMaNdzBIhIFU662qhFsj2qUOtF69bWAkLaChjNE7z15RWhFCptzgAiCJdkhYH9SOiUylZhDeWs3cSw9bFvQfuFOOt6O-yjS7HTDVZElJ-LN4Q4Jm16SpJSwdiU7b/s320/Joy+RR.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5553212589493386866" /></a><br />It took much longer than I would have liked, but I finally got my last Round Robin ornament done. The design is Joy by Lizzie Kate. The last few weeks of school were very busy, and that took me away from my stitching, but I was finally able to get back to it. Work has been so hectic with new students, faculty issues, and class scheduling nightmares. All I can say is thank goodness it's Friday! I'm taking two classes again, and of course it looks like they're going to keep me plenty busy. My advisor thinks I can be done by next December. Man that would be nice, but we'll see.<br /><br />I have two finishes to share. One is called Christmas Helper, and it's for one of my ornament Round Robin partners. The other is for the ornament SAL. I think I may make it into a card instead of an ornament because it just looks like it was made for a card. I finished the second one earlier in the month, but held on to it so I could show two at one time. :-)<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWyu-vHTCbwOfU_fTJ_4jvPbzvMrWySBKjOq-NUuYH3jl3N-ug8OIrasPivHUMuaHSO-yHNf9n_0-ql4ypVI3zGIdnLPjbNkAGZI_gC48GXueUKES7wcF0fZx9ZHPMye0F8AR7IiNSO5PQ/s1600/Christmas+Helper+-+RR.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 145px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWyu-vHTCbwOfU_fTJ_4jvPbzvMrWySBKjOq-NUuYH3jl3N-ug8OIrasPivHUMuaHSO-yHNf9n_0-ql4ypVI3zGIdnLPjbNkAGZI_gC48GXueUKES7wcF0fZx9ZHPMye0F8AR7IiNSO5PQ/s200/Christmas+Helper+-+RR.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5510217676522854482" /></a>Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16352417948406209439noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8673427133382858291.post-78334977607777627092010-07-13T14:27:00.003-06:002010-07-22T13:45:21.032-06:00Two finishes<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXhhQwTEeUShPD2t-2I96HwrMr6eQqOWmDAczDpRUqZUhaiXx6D9S-OCErborlppAEKI_WQ9evMa_FHQLFTaas9gDy8gvjxJNOR_Sxhj_c-ThQuLiB_DSpd5X_cAneH7agmqGOr-G_0hcA/s1600/Wreath+ornie.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 274px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXhhQwTEeUShPD2t-2I96HwrMr6eQqOWmDAczDpRUqZUhaiXx6D9S-OCErborlppAEKI_WQ9evMa_FHQLFTaas9gDy8gvjxJNOR_Sxhj_c-ThQuLiB_DSpd5X_cAneH7agmqGOr-G_0hcA/s320/Wreath+ornie.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5496818870738589234" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2GGSdlQzVXwpnKohXuuQU1JGuW5PCuxjNHlmg95DJUjrHK3_OAzR0S4wjSQRVBaV5ily05Ucq3TzHXIE2-KcY5bR8CiqAmhWFLde9QQfZvJSrqrAt-jDx_ZHJDFLDGe4CPNZR2Ta9By0B/s1600/MH+Root+Beer+Float.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 256px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2GGSdlQzVXwpnKohXuuQU1JGuW5PCuxjNHlmg95DJUjrHK3_OAzR0S4wjSQRVBaV5ily05Ucq3TzHXIE2-KcY5bR8CiqAmhWFLde9QQfZvJSrqrAt-jDx_ZHJDFLDGe4CPNZR2Ta9By0B/s320/MH+Root+Beer+Float.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5493492008737414322" border="0" /></a><br />I've got two finishes for this week. One is my July ornament for the ILCS Ornament SAL. I'm not real thrilled with the French knots, but I think they came out better with regular thread than they would have with the metallic thread as called for in the pattern. The other is Mill Hill's Root Beer Float. This kit was part of my Summer Exchange gift from Berly. It's my first Mill Hill kit. I think it came out pretty good, although it was the first time I've done both stitching and beads in the same project. That took some getting used to, but after a while it went pretty fast. :-)Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16352417948406209439noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8673427133382858291.post-19013092509095539302010-06-18T09:00:00.006-06:002010-06-18T09:15:29.102-06:002 Finishes!!!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj19QJEV2UgvDB1VE9i1AV2RNk-CzyWwBrwtGs9QMRIfVKFTqJex8IogCfTaXH2vXHutSd5qspTuG8S8KdwY6V6FKjNIeRCG472NxXpn2_J77VbJp0iQqDoRZiOVxoSORILyIIrKebNT2Dp/s1600/Stream+Tiger.jpg"><img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 162px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj19QJEV2UgvDB1VE9i1AV2RNk-CzyWwBrwtGs9QMRIfVKFTqJex8IogCfTaXH2vXHutSd5qspTuG8S8KdwY6V6FKjNIeRCG472NxXpn2_J77VbJp0iQqDoRZiOVxoSORILyIIrKebNT2Dp/s200/Stream+Tiger.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5484132199028883906" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_wc6ECYupLBXI6p-syJrw7rW_tl5V1C3UktcWBLP3sppb-COTdqKT9pgp4mgSziw5gVsHh00RhcPseLWE-wuCB6Mw9w0l2lv9V935eqriZhWAgT3DNxcdZpfOfHWBPMEPsihNsRrtujEq/s1600/Candle+Ornament.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_wc6ECYupLBXI6p-syJrw7rW_tl5V1C3UktcWBLP3sppb-COTdqKT9pgp4mgSziw5gVsHh00RhcPseLWE-wuCB6Mw9w0l2lv9V935eqriZhWAgT3DNxcdZpfOfHWBPMEPsihNsRrtujEq/s200/Candle+Ornament.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5484132057822279010" /></a><br />I'm happy to say I have two finishes to show! I finished my June ornament of the ILCS Ornament Stitch-a-Long. I almost got it finished in one day on a plane, but ended up with a few stitches to finish once I got back. After almost two years I'm finally finished with the tiger drinking at a stream. It seems like way too long a time to finish such a small project, but I'm happy it's finally done.Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16352417948406209439noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8673427133382858291.post-65449848397693051002010-05-14T16:03:00.002-06:002010-05-14T16:06:24.786-06:00May ornament<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjviK7P_cdH6kXOFpBFUJIb-VM39q720Zi9LtnjeLJ0xz4-WcBqhlUay_jCqCSSqWxY0kEIa3wKxz-9iAoXClRZCrVuhypKMrcJKv6TyaYAMMfOJ2WSmzK9toQ_0GNlAMSh7BWVPVV-OafS/s1600/Turtle+doves+ornament.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 163px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjviK7P_cdH6kXOFpBFUJIb-VM39q720Zi9LtnjeLJ0xz4-WcBqhlUay_jCqCSSqWxY0kEIa3wKxz-9iAoXClRZCrVuhypKMrcJKv6TyaYAMMfOJ2WSmzK9toQ_0GNlAMSh7BWVPVV-OafS/s200/Turtle+doves+ornament.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5471250446529786210" border="0" /></a><br />Finally, after almost two months, I have a small finish. Life has been incredibly complicated in the last several weeks with major events and trying to finish up this semester. It's been a stressful time. So I deliberately picked a small design for this month's ornament so that I could finish it really quickly and feel better. I think I like the way it turned out.Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16352417948406209439noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8673427133382858291.post-9396315094400505682010-03-18T11:58:00.003-06:002010-03-18T12:02:52.653-06:00First March finish<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzR4RlK_qEnW_M-WA_wRgtHkPXKSfF5EcCy3JC5PnK9Zl_LtUvuInfr6jywwnkGe-8aSaWCpNSUjhQ25SK_BGWwtV1Fc9zlDxE4rVgZwTbi6NH8HwZQungAshJQgw8CRIjAwTh0lJ39hlH/s1600-h/F+block+for+Betty+W.jpg"><img style="float: right; margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; cursor: pointer; width: 198px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzR4RlK_qEnW_M-WA_wRgtHkPXKSfF5EcCy3JC5PnK9Zl_LtUvuInfr6jywwnkGe-8aSaWCpNSUjhQ25SK_BGWwtV1Fc9zlDxE4rVgZwTbi6NH8HwZQungAshJQgw8CRIjAwTh0lJ39hlH/s200/F+block+for+Betty+W.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5450035655083959234" border="0" /></a><br />It's been a couple of weeks, since I posted last, but I'm happy to say I have a finish for March. Betty, one of my ILCS friends, is putting together quilts for her granddaughters. I am very glad to say that I finished my block for her yesterday. I'm even happy with the way most of the french knots came out, even though they're not my specialty. Hopefully I'll have one more small finish for the month, but for now, here's the block.Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16352417948406209439noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8673427133382858291.post-72591274692341225152010-02-19T15:47:00.004-07:002010-02-19T15:53:13.548-07:00A finish, and a soon-to-be finish<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdPOO6L5XM1BVx9H__G2GqC1h23rDKhNPjukWXPLdg-1MyhcTjlrHlD-8p5HHra6yqiJEBBupvkH-1XvoB1OhvIA54TOA2kRS8ymDn_YZB_k6eKYfb7Cs-7i5LSlIIDN_mELDvR_iWIk50/s1600-h/Snowman+SAL.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 308px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdPOO6L5XM1BVx9H__G2GqC1h23rDKhNPjukWXPLdg-1MyhcTjlrHlD-8p5HHra6yqiJEBBupvkH-1XvoB1OhvIA54TOA2kRS8ymDn_YZB_k6eKYfb7Cs-7i5LSlIIDN_mELDvR_iWIk50/s320/Snowman+SAL.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5440090445383155586" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPegtjD0P2Y-6DJV9lt1rPwQAxOGBBVHc7z-pofy8cIcQaxXyFjKRbJjOOoq09vFDNmlnutfyzrQAQe44YFM6qShHfnPBMBp187neAVbqZWeTlHveRforQ0NzoVq-g_60A9Y4Ssey5bvgw/s1600-h/Feb+Ornie.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 318px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPegtjD0P2Y-6DJV9lt1rPwQAxOGBBVHc7z-pofy8cIcQaxXyFjKRbJjOOoq09vFDNmlnutfyzrQAQe44YFM6qShHfnPBMBp187neAVbqZWeTlHveRforQ0NzoVq-g_60A9Y4Ssey5bvgw/s320/Feb+Ornie.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5440090675143625778" border="0" /></a><br /><br />I got my Jan-Feb SAL project done this week. It was originally going to be done in January, but that didn't happen. :-)Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16352417948406209439noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8673427133382858291.post-4755727661739249832010-02-05T14:38:00.003-07:002010-02-05T14:41:29.594-07:00First 2010 finish<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdILw6FwMH4MuVAAPtp8q_RnI3SQBi-T6A1SGzkGQJNF1Mr2n65F3MoObNDtPtlffUifgCczD_L8Y2HnBFOePs-tdxq5WSFgCa4RFNMqWdDpR9WlzINZ19U0Vhrx69kFXIrvzB8oITcvSU/s1600-h/de-calf.JPG"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdILw6FwMH4MuVAAPtp8q_RnI3SQBi-T6A1SGzkGQJNF1Mr2n65F3MoObNDtPtlffUifgCczD_L8Y2HnBFOePs-tdxq5WSFgCa4RFNMqWdDpR9WlzINZ19U0Vhrx69kFXIrvzB8oITcvSU/s320/de-calf.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5434877656338873538" /></a><br />I'm very excited to say that I actually have a full finish for this year! This will be the first post I have with a picture, so hopefully this works right. The pattern is called De-Calf, and it will actually become part of a larger project. Hope you like it.Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16352417948406209439noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8673427133382858291.post-79435352795623516462009-10-28T13:45:00.000-06:002009-10-28T13:45:00.509-06:00New to the blogging worldSo I'm part of an online stitching group, and it seems like so many of the members have these great blogs that I decided I would give my own blog a shot. I love reading about them and what they've been up to, and it seems like a great way to keep track of my own life, projects, etc. I hope to be able to get out here at least once a week and keep this area updated. Life does seem to get in the way of the plans we make, but I'm going to try very hard. Actually, now that I'm so interested in others' blogs, it may not be so hard. And so ends my first post. More to come later...Sandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16352417948406209439noreply@blogger.com2
